Sight Words
Did you know that reading fluency can help students with comprehension?
The less words a student has to decode, the more successful they will be with understanding the text. Our class uses the Dolch Sight Words as a measure of student growth in reading. Students are assessed throughout the year to track progress.
Want to help at home? Check out some ideas below, consider the options on the spelling choice menu under the Homework page, or don't be afraid to play games online/ download an app for your student!
REMEMBER: All students learn differently and at different paces! Just because a student is in 2nd grade, may not mean they ready to work on 2nd grade words. They may still need to work on Kinder or 1st grade.
